Kwara Police Furious, Denies APC Allegation against new Police Commissioner

The Kwara state Police command has
denied allegation leveled against the
newly posted Commissioner of Police,
Mr Ambrose Aisebo, by All Progressives
Congress (APC) that he was deployed
to the state to work for Peoples
Democratic Party(PDP).
The Command noted that the new
Commissioner of Police is a Nigerian
and his duty is to protect lives and
properties.
It could be recalled that the state
Interim Executive of APC led by Hon.
Ishola Balogun-Fulani, at press
conference, alleged that the incoming
Commissioner of Police has been order
to work for PDP.
According to APC, “we have it on good
authority that the new Commissioner of
Police has been allegedly posted to
Kwara state at the instance of the
frustrated members of the PDP in the
state and to fulfill the PDP’s agenda of
intimidating our members and
frustrating our constitutional rights to
free association, freedom of expression
and peaceful assembly.
“Finding himself in a state that is
almost 100% APC, it is tempting for the
new CP to want to do the bidding of his
masters in Abuja and their errand boys
here in the State. The police may
choose to be partisan and be used to
intimidate our members and in the
course disturb the peaceful atmosphere
in the State.”
But the Police Public Relations Officer
(PPRO) in Kwarar, ASP Ajayi Okasanmi
debunked the allegation.
He said before any police could attain
the rank of Commissioner of Police, he
would have passed through different
stages stressing that he was posted to
the state to protect lives and properties.
The Command spokesperson said the
new Police boss is a professional and
was not posted to the state to protect
an individual of group.
