The interim chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani has described
the defection of the former gubernatorial candidate on the platform of APC in the state, Lawyer Dele Belgore to
Peoples Democratic party (PDP), as a blessing to the APC in the state.Balogun Fulani also revealed that over 374400
Kwarans had registered during thejust concluded APC registration exercise, saying that APC is the fastest growing
party in Africa. The chairman disclosed this Wednesday inIlorin during an exclusive interview with The Herald,
affirming that it was even better for Belgore to remain with APC where there is hope for him than going to the
crumbling party, PDP.“It is a blessing to APC because we believethat if you want change and you want to help the
people to get to the desired destination through provision of more dividends of democracy it is APC.“But he is now
defecting to PDP, a crumbling party that we know! Well, I wish him well but I know he may come back to APC
because he is going to line up there because there are people that are more experienced than him in the remnant of
PDP, which means he will be a back bencher” he added.Speaking on the just concluded APC registration exercise,
Balogun Fulani said the turn out of people during the exercise was very encouraging.“I can tell you that we have
registered more than 200 people in each of the polling units. In some cases we registered more than 300 while some
units recorded 400. That is to show the acceptability of our party in Kwara State.“We have 1,872 polling units in
Kwara State. If we multiply the initial 100 it amounts to 187200. With the trend of things, we have registered more
than 200 members and if we multiply 1,872 by 200 itis going to be 374400 which means we have registered more
than that. That is to tell you that Insha Allah come 2015 APC will win in Kwara State.Reacting to Senator Gbemisola
Saraki’s recent rally in Ilorin, the state APC interim chairman in the state said the idea of each leader in the remnant
of PDP conducted rally separately in different locations shows that the party lacks agreement and cohesion. The act
organizing rally separately clearly shows that there is no cohesion, no agreement within the hierarchy of PDP as at
now. Everybody has his own faction. Professor Oba has his own faction, Senator Gbemisola has her own faction,
Alabi Yekini at the same time was holding his rally at Ojoku. Also Sera Jibril held her own the previous day before
others held their own, then LAK Jimoh has his own faction. That is to show that there is no agreement within the
people that made up the remnants of PDP today, everybody is on his own.On APC comment over the new
Commissioner of Police in the state, Balogun Fulani admitted that it was too early to judge the man, saying that what
APC was saying is just an advice for him totreat everybody equally.“Actually it is too early to judge the new
CPbecause we learned that he is a complete gentle man. What we are just saying is that we are giving him an advice
that Kwara State is a peace loving state, that is why we are being called State of Harmony. We don’t want him to
come and ‘Mbunize’ us here. When I say ‘Mbunize’ that is what Mbu did while he was in Rivers State, Kwara State is
different from Rivers state” he advised. The chairman therefore thanked people of the state for coming out in large
number toshow their love and affection to the fastestgrowing party in Africa, APC , pointing out that their coming out
for the exercise clearly shows the outright acceptability of APC in the state.“We are very grateful to all our teeming
population that came out to register just the first day the registration started. Majority of the polling units completed
their 100 members that very day, that attests to our saying that we are the fastest growing party in Africa.” Our people
are known for keeping peace and I want to advise them again to keep peace because when there is peace there is
going to be progress and development” he added.
