Political watchers in and out of Kwara state today got a dose of what
to expect in the forthcoming general elections as three Saraki siblings,
Gbemisola, Tope and Laolu Saraki vowed to forge a common front
against their blood brother and former Governor of Kwara state, Dr.
Bukola Saraki for desecrating the legacies of their late father.
Infinity Links ’s correspondent, who was at the venue of the meeting
reports that the Saraki siblings, who had arrived the venue in a
motorcade, held their hands high up at a point to demonstrate their
resolve. They declared that the days of their brother in the political
circle of the state are numbered.
Talking on behalf of the other siblings who were present physically
and stood by their sister, the first daughter of the late strongman of
Ilorin politics, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki regretted that the Kwara state
she and her siblings grew up in was ‘totally different from what they
have turned it to now.’ She said a situation whereby Kwarans would
‘surfer in the midst of plenty is not only despicable but regrettable’,
declaring the administration of her brother and his predecessor,
Abdulfatai Ahmed as a ‘colossal waste.’
She however urged Kwarans not to despair, insisting that ‘help has
come.’
She stated that Mr. Bukola Saraki is a ‘prodigal son who disobeyed
his father, shot out the door of the PDP he built against him and his
loyalists, and held on to power as if there is no tomorrow.”
